Awesome New Book: The Son Of Neptune. By Rick Riordan. Sequel to The Lost Hero

I don't know what this book is about but, I read the first one and liked it, so I think this one is going to be good. 

     It comes out this fall and I am really excited, it also has a really cool cover.

The Last Olympian is about a boy named Percy Jackson trying to save Mt. Olympus. On his way he faces new challenges including a Mintour, and Kronos himself. I think you'll find this book very interesting. So go to your local bookstore and enjoy this dramatic greek myth book.

My Essay About Littering and Global Warming- By Ellis

IF YOU DROP IT, STOP IT!

ELLIS SHAPIRO-BARNUM’S ESSAY ABOUT LITTERING AND GLOBAL WARMING

       Many people around the world are littering and

Polluting. They are turning what was once a beautiful

Culture into an ugly place. My ideas on Littering are

Changing. I used to think that littering was just bad,

But now I Am realizing it could cause very hurtful

Things to happen like Global Warming and Climate

 Change.

One example that shows people think littering is bad

Is this quote by a quote by a Girl named Adeline, age

 12: “Earth is getting tired and older of having all of

Us. If we love our Earth, Earth will love us, but if we

Don’t take care of our Earth we will destroy it”

       This example shows that kids around the world

also care about saving the earth.

       Another example that kids don’t like littering is

 This survey of our Class: 8 out of 26 kids have not

Littered. 24 out of 26 kids think littering is horrible. 6

 out of 26 kids have littered. 1 out of 26 kids think

littering is not Horrible.

       This example shows that kids do really hate and

 dread littering and what it does.

       One reason littering is bad and recycling is good

Is explained in this article:

According to National Geographic “ Recycling one

 water bottle can save up to six hours of light” Isn’t

that alarming! If everyone in our class (26 kids)

 recycled one water bottle we could save up to 156

hours of light (26x6=156). This example shows that if

we stop littering it will help people in many different

 ways.

       Another reason kids think littering is bad is this

line from an interview of my friend Julian Matthews,

age 9: “ I can’t believe a person would just throw

their garbage on the ground” He said.

      

       This example shows that if enough kids and

adults complain to companies and factories they will

 stop polluting the earth, air, and water.

       One reason littering and pollution is bad is that it

causes global warming. The sun is heating up the

earth because of gases (pollution), Global Warming,

and littering. And in Antarctica the ice is melting and

the Polar Bears and many other animals will die!!!

       This example shows that Global Warming doesn’t

happen to only humans but ANIMALS TOO!!!

       Another example that kids think littering,

 pollution, and global warming is horrible, bad and

frightening are these quotes: “We will be the ones

To protect the earth and solve the problems of war,

 hunger, and disaster.”- Aika Tusubota, age 12,

Japan. Another kid that thinks littering, pollution,

And global warming is horrible and bad is Sam Levin,

age 15, USA: “ We will be the generation the reunites

 mankind with the Earth” Sam said. Even first graders

 care about the earth: “You can make a difference in

the world but only if you really want to”- Ryan

       This example shows that kids really care about

the earth and it does no matter which country they

live in or how old they are; kids care!

       Another reason that littering, pollution, and

 global warming is bad was when Brooklyn, NY had a

Tornado. “BOOM FLASH BOOM FLASH!!” The thunder

 boomed and the lightning flashed. I was in my Tae

 Kwon Do class and we were having a severe storm.

 The sky turned a dark shade of green. I was getting

 more terrified by the second. Fear was creeping over

 my body. Soon a woman came in the Do Jo and she

 looked like she had just jumped in a pool. Water was

 dripping down her and her purple sweater had turned

 dark purple. We were also having leaks, which made

 me even more nervous and terrified than I was

before. After the class my mom said we had had a

tornado. We drove up the street and trees and

branches and smashed cars were everywhere, even

my mom’s windshield was cracked.

       This example shows that if we really don’t shape

 up and stop littering and polluting natural disasters

will happen at weird times.

       As you can see littering and polluting is very

horrible for the Earth.

       As Jack Johnson said in his song The 3 R’s “We’ve

got to learn to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” I hope you

 listened carefully and I hope you will take

Action and always remember KIDS CAN SAVE THE

EARTH TOO!!!!

New Books I Got For Hanukah

The Thing About Georgie By Lisa Graff

This book is called The Thing about Georgie and it is truly the best book ever written. I myself have read it 3 times and every time I simply enjoyed it. This book is about a dwarf and he is having a lot of problems with his life. Me and my class have a theory about it: Georgie thinks he's an outsider and doesn't fit in. If any of you read this book I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I HATE GLOBAL WARMING

I HATE GLOBAL WARMING-SAVE THE EARTH!

            Did you know that the earth is basically covered in a sheet of weird gases?Well it is! And you know what? It is making the earth hot! This is all because of global warming, littering and pollution.For example, it was November 12 and it was 72 degrees outside.

      It is known that the sheet of gases will make the world heat up,

 the oceans will rise.

      There will be floods and people might die and drown. It is horrible!!!

     

       SO STOP GLOBAL WARMING AND LITTERING AND NOTHING LIKE THIS WILL HAPPEN AND NO ONE WILL DIE!!!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid #5 THE UGLY TRUTH

            This is the 5th book in the book series of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The book is of a journal of a kid named Greg Heffley and he is in Middle School and it is very funny!

Book Review of The People of Sparks by Jeanne Duprau

This book is the sequel of the city of ember and it is just as good as the other one and in this one they escaped Ember and they are in the outside world but they don't really like it cause they are not hospitable and they are not giving anything for them. Here is a quote on the book:

                           "It is green here and very big. Light comes from the sky. . . ."

Book Review of The City Of Ember By Jeanne Duprau

This is a really good book about a girl named Lina Mayfleet and a boy named Doon Harrow and they live in the city of Ember. Ember is a city under ground and they only have a bunch of lightbulbs as the sky and they keep on having black outs and people are scared that they will go out for ever and the story is how Lina and Doon escape from the city of ember.

Another starting of a story called Jonah Gorgon

            One day there was a boy named Jonah Gordon and he was a very conscientious boy and was so meticulous about just anything like for example if he touches a broom he always washes his and to do that and he will wash his hands to touch basically anything like a banana a piece of wood and even silly things like his own head or his parents or even anything in his crowded room on the 2^nd floor of their big house that was in Philadelphia and went to school every day at his school called Friends Central and was in particularly a good school in his town.

            Jonah was twelve years old and knew how to tie his shoes and fix up his own tie and make his own bed. (Obviously) Jonah was befriended of a boy named Max Jordan and they had very similar last names. Gordon and Jordan…very similar. And now our story begins.

            It was a stormy evening, Jonah Gordon was in his crowded bedroom reading a book called Midnight For Charlie Bone and was just absorbed in the text that he hardly even noticed that the were having a mini hurricane. Thunder clapped and lightning flashed and he quickly glanced out the window trying not to be distracted and what he saw definitely made him distracted. A tree ripped out of the ground the roots were sticking out in all directions and he was so terrified and astonished.

            He ran downstairs and he dashed into the dining room and before he touched anything he put a little squirt of hand sanitizer and scrubbed his hands.

Then he screamed at what he saw. His parents were laying on the floor their bodies in orange and red and blue flames and everything was blown everywhere. Then he saw it swirling toward him it was a funnel cloud gray trucks flying around it parts of buildings were also on it.

RAINSHADDOWS QUEST

            There once was a cat named Rainshaddow he was in the ThunderClan and was a couple moons old his mother was named Leapardpool and his sister was named Spottedshaddow .

            They lived in the forest of the twolegs so it was a little dangerous at the time the other clans that were the StarClan the ShaddowClan  the RiverClan and the WindClan. All the warriors of the clan were worried of the ShaddowClan cause they were always planing secret attacks on them.

            Their leader at the time was Bluestar. Bluestar was a great warrior and she had blue fur and silver streaks in her fur and she also had silver eyes and looked like a real warrior. Her apprentice used to be Firestar, and Firestar was really lucky because most cats don't get to be trained by  leaders of ThunderClan.

            Rainshaddow was sitting in his den with his friend Tigerpelt thinking of fresh-kill, he was so hungry and had never caught a mouse before ,not even once, he never even tasted one and ever since he was born he was thinking of trying one.

            "Lets try and ketch a mouse" suggested Rainshaddow.

            "Alright lets do that I've always wanted to taste a mouse I haven't even tasted it once" Meowed Tigerpelt.

            "Same here"said Rainshaddow.

            "Alright then lets do it!!!" shouted Tigerpelt

They traveled into the forest going to the snake rocks where a lot of mice and snakes were. They crouched down on the dirt sniffing the air for the scent of mice. Rainshaddows ears pricked up and smelled the mouse he searched the surface of the ground there it was gray plump… delicious. He sprang on it instantly filling it with his claws that’s what his mentor Graystripe taught him.

            Tigerpelt felt jealous and quickly caught one his self. Rainshaddow lapped up the tender juicy mouse it was delicious.

            “I’m glad I am going to live the next many moons eating that and I also am wondering what a rabbit tastes like” whispered Tigerpelt. He saw a big white furry thing running through the bushes and scrubs in the forest. Today is my lucky day!
